Top notch Multipurpose WordPress Theme!

The timescale from initial discussion, design, manufacture and installation met the client’s requirements and the finished gate was installed in the completed 6 million pound revetment and flood protection scheme completed on Margate seafront. This award winning scheme is a key part to Thanet District Councils plan the revitalise Margate as not only a visitor’s destination again but most importantly to improve the quality of facilities and improve the lives of the local population living in the district.

The schemes position for the gate changed a couple of times and the design had to be revised. Due to future requirements for maintenance the system is constructed with access for maintenance as a priority. The planned period for overhaul including gate removal is every five years. This can simply be done using a HIAB Lorry and while works are carried out to the gate the capping is reinstalled across the open gate slot making the area safe for pedestrian use. Holbrook Electrical are carrying out an ongoing maintenance scheme for TDC with regards to the barrier that involves one minor and one major service per year. The system can be configured in 2 ways either as a wave deflection shield or as a flood barrier to hold back standing water. Depending on your requirements, flood threat and location.

Holbrook Electrical and Engineering fully appreciate that we all have budgetary requirements to work to and therefore will always work with our clients to offer a value engineered solution to your flood problem. We can manufacture this unit in Hot dipped galvanised steel as an alternative to stainless steel to help control costs. However for the longest possible service life for the barrier we would always recommend that 316 stainless steel is the best material to use in the manufacturing process of the unit. If you feel our innovative system may be of use to you please feel free to contact us to arrange a site visit and initial discussion.
